Three's No Longer Company

Farewell dinner tonight on the deck in Linville. The traveling trio will disperse tomorrow morning with Walt and Debi heading back to Florida with layovers enroute. I will be leaving either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. It's so hard to leave the great weather here in the Mountains.

Leaving the Windy City

Last night before dinner we walked over to Buckingham Fountain. Friday, after driving by Oprah's studios, we waved goodbye to the Windy City.

My Kind of Town

On Thursday we took a Hop-on Hop-off trolley/bus tour of Chicago. Since parking is at a premium in downtown Chicago, I'd say a tour is the only way to go. I really went crazy taking pictures. Of course we had to have a stuffed pizza. Debi scored us really nice rooms at a 4-star hotel across from Grant Park, the Blackstone.

Go Navy

We are now in Chicago. Spent this afternoon at the Navy Pier and ate at Harry Caray's Tavern. From there, Walt drove us up Lake Shore Drive and to Wrigley Field. The skyline of the city is beautiful.

On the Road to Chicago

We left Linville this morning and headed north on our trek to Chicago. So, today was mostly a travel day with my brother driving around 420 miles. Dinner was in Shelbyville, KY at Claudia Sanders Dinner House (the former home and headquarters of Claudia and Colonel Harland Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame). We are spending the night in Scottsburg, IN - about 220 miles to go tomorrow.
